Damascus. The Straight Street
الشام. الشارع المستقيم
Now there was a certain disciple at
Damascus, named Ananias; and the Lord said
unto him in a vision, Ananias. And he said,
Behold, I am here, Lord. And the Lord
said unto him, Arise and go
to the street which is called Straight.
Acts 9:10,11
Light is still on window when
Lamp is yet expended, sank
In the quietness; onlý
Something rain on pavement seek...
Drizzling it is going, but
All the stones are dry, untouched...
Lamps are standing faded, why
Are on windows sealed thir light..?
I am walking 'long the street
Straight and narrow and asleep...
Pieces broken on the stones -
Light from lamps had fallen, broke -
Gleaming weak and scarse felt...
To the dormant wall I came,
But the frozen shade I found...
- I am fickle dream without
Existance. Speak me out!
"O the phantom, then be real!"
Shadow sadly only winced...
- Ah alack, profane is speech, -
Words are lifeless finch...
Say from heart, by Him, anew
That I may come into view...
In my heart I have pronounced
Prayer, Name of God; "Anow,
Fantom in the maze of dreams,
Ghostly wall in fog of sleep,
By the leave of God, emerge and live!"
In the breach appeared stones,
"I do exist!" The cheerful wall
Exclaimed and said, "By mighty Word
Thus dreams come into being..."
Abashed, on pavement then I sat,
The rain in air halted; Hang
Without motion drops...
In magic torpor stopped the clock;
I hear well the steps approaching in
This glassy sleep or dream...
Sufi lord: Alone in olden street
Enchanted seeker sits...
Although we have the answers, but
First listen to Adáb¹:
ووصف بعضُهُم الأبدالَ فقالَ في
وَصْفِهِمْ: وكانُوا لا يتكلمُونَ حتى
يُسْألوا عن شيء فيُجيبوا
Describing Abdāl, some of them said:
They don't speak until they are asked,
only then they respond.

Me: O master, please, of speech creative say...
Sufi lord:
For verily I say unto you, If ye have
faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall
say unto this mountain, Remove hence
to yonder place; and it shall remove;
and nothing shall be impossible unto you.
Matthew 17:20
گر بِپَّرانیم تیر، آن نه زِ ماست
ما کَمان و تیراَنْدازش خداست
If we shoot an arrow, 'tis from us not,
We are a bow, but archer is God.

Creative speech of Spirit can
Bring into being, change
Events, transform by God's permission; it
Is magic speech...
We call it Word of Power, but
It is the living speech of God...
فأحسنُ الكلامِ كلامُ الله تعالى
The most beautiful speech -
is the speech of God, exalted is He.
Al-Makki
Me: If I understood it right, -
A man can speak the speech divine..?
Sufi lord: The arrow hit the tee, for thee
The signs:
ولما كان الاستواء الإلهي على القلب
من باب وسعني صارت الألوهية غيباً
في الإنسان فشهادته إنسان وغيبه إلَه
From establishment of the Divinity in the heart
through the gate "In the heart of My devout
servant I dwell" became the Divinity hidden
in man, so his outward is man, and within
him is God.

is taken away, and thy sin forgiven.

The magic speech of Word
Can speak the spirit only, not
The flesh...
Me: To the desert of words the road what is?
Sufi lord:
قابِلِ اَمرِ وِیی، قایِل شَوی
وَصلْ جویی، بعد از آن واصِل شَوی
Who His command accepted, becomes speaking he,
Who seeks the Union, then unified will be.

shall flow rivers of living water.

Sufi lord: His signs are His elects...

Said Jesus: But he that denieth Me

the presence of all the angels of God.
