Sufi Dance
وقال بعضهم: الرجل شمس
Said one of them, "Man is a sun."
Ibn 'Arabi
Palpitating rays transfixed
Flesh of stagnant pallid night,
Light did blast, did whirl, and mix'd
In the ecstasy divine. Fly
The song of passion as a storm,
Dawn dissolved the heart; A plasm
Of melted ruby spinning on...
Lost the limits, self and spasm
Of vaunt; only song of sentiment,
Dance of lovers - fiery wind,
Beams of radiance entwined, did blend
As swans in love; between
Us only scent of breath; a round,
Only now, forever now; burnt
The time, expired, bound
Twixt eternity and instant clove...
Whirl of love, we are but one,
Sun revolving fast; accord...
Haه replete with misty Wawو,
Heart is sanctuary of Word.
Thawed the shadow in the Nunن,
Deluged the waves arcane a fane;
Night I am become, the moon,
Tune of mystery, a dancing crane...
Spouts garment white around
Me - twinkling star in love, unique,
Deep of ocean... motion, round,
Whirling wind, I spin, I missed
Mortal nature - shabby gown,
Starry vest - my dress yet be...
