Beautiful Island, pearl of the Ocean, bright,
Kissed by the sun and drunk on light,
Where pure emerald waves
With flying fishes and sea-turtles play.
And gentle southern breeze
Whispers to the dreamy trees,
In words of beauty and delight,
The secrets of remote climes.
And marvellous flowers there of many a hue
Are so fresh in morning dew.
They give their fragrance to the one,
Whose eyes reflect the shining sun.
