Love Song of the Moon

A chilling evening breeze doth fan -
The breath of moon in her mansion wan -
The dim-lit chamber of nocturnal songs -
Abode of dreams where she alone
Is shimmering, lost in reveries, when they -
The moon and sun did rest upon the brae
Of day and night... Those kisses sweet,
And sighs, the promises and words of love, beneath
The everlasting stars... Then sable raven
Of the night had separated them; the heaven
Grieved, and clouds of consolation
Enwrapt the moon in her silvery mansion.
Therein, she till the morn, alone
Is singing her sweet amorous songs:

O lover, I shall be forever thine,
Nor lark of day, nor crow of night, nor time
Can ever sever us, nor even death...
For ye to be within my heart, thereat
We are together evermore, and never part.

O charming sun, thou art - my everything -
My life, my smile, my tears, my minstrelsy...
O golden tender sun, when you embrace
Me near the gates of night afore ye shy away, -
I melt, becoming light, then shine
All night until we date at dawn, then I
Will dream away with flock of crows
In tenement of sleep and doze.

O sun, the denizen of summer sky,
Thou bringest Spring into my clime;
From breath of thine, my garden bloom,
O my beloved... thy, forever, moon.
