Mafate. Cap Noir
وهنا سِرٌ فابحث عليه،
عسى يعطيك ما لديه
Mystery is here, find it, maybe
'Twill give what contains unto thee.
Ibn 'Arabi
Branches black enlaced the night, -
Tied, did hold her soft slumberous glide...
Sinuous branches of tamarind trees
Interwoven in calligraphy -
Poesy of spirit-angel who inscribed
Chinese verses upon silk of sky...
Drips moonlight in serpentine ravine, the rivulet
Of fairy dreams - Rivière des Galets...
Render'd cliffs in labyrinth -
Leading to the peak of myth. Amid
The covering clouds summit high
Where realm of myth and real entwined...
Vagrant poets of the moon
Plash there damask of the tunes;
Flute of wind plays undersong,
Mystery of night is on...
Afore sweet melody in heart resounds,
Speechless night in heart adowns -
Night of strength and magnitude
In the silent solitude...
On thy song, O lunar bard
While the moon is anchor'd over Cap Noir.
Heart is mirror, tides of grace
Roll and flow, these breaths, but grade
Of the purity of mirror-pool -
How well reflected is the moon...
View amazes and exalt,
Exaltation stretches soul,
Ghost of this precipitous rock doth say:
Arcane this height and site, 'tis plane
Of second hour of night -
The dominion of perfect moon; thine
This hour and peak to be, O moons,
Look at Him, whose name is "Living One". O you,
The lucid mirrors, be renewed...
