Tabriz. The Snow
برف

Snow got lost amid the hills,
Froze gliding minutes, in
The ephemeral flakes turned it;
Slowly flows white romance,
Hills asleep are falling; dense
And hoary doze... Wind
Rose timidly... congealed...
I behold these falling flakes,
The soul uneven it allays...
Layer of forgetfulness on earth,
Billow dreamy came and left the froth...
I attend to breath of eve,
Snow furtively does speak...
Of a sleep the morsels falling,
Yet in slumber I am going -
Doze of visions... With a book
Dervish I see by the glassy brook...

Dervish: Thou deem it is a dream,
But reality this be...
A seeming fleeting - what behind...

All the being is a dream within a dream.
Ibn 'Arabi

Me: Tell me, what the snow was saying...

Dervish: All on Earth the snow is laying,
All is fading, flee...

Everyone upon it fades.
But the Face of thy Lord - that of Majesty and
Splendour remains.
Qur'an 55:26,27

But remains the Spirit onely, thus
By the works of Spirit, art -
He does Himself reveal...
He does Himself conceive...

The world is illusory dream,
it doesn't have a real existence;
This is the meaning of dream.
Ibn 'Arabi

There are lasting and a fleeting,
Fleeting has existence seeming -
It does flow while song resounds,
Then it downs...
'Tis the level of becoming...
Only God is everlasting -
The Reality of Spirit -
Living breathings
Of the God preserving world...

Jesus saith:
I create from clay for thee a figurine
of bird, then I breathe in it, and it
becomes a living bird, by leave of God.
Qur'an 3:49

Spake He, "Be!" And matter formed, -
Thus by Word a dream emerged
Into being; Breathing His -
And it lives...
By the will of His heart...

But listen to the Mystic Flute -
The breaths of God, each day anew...

This time regard and listen, hark, -
To get these breathings, grasp.
Rumi, Masnavi 1:1955

Me: Please say, and tell me more...

Dervish:

Scarce opened door
Of crescent waning, ebb...
A weary shimmer speaks, "Do not forget
To imprint this vision, - this
On the window whisper frozen... On
The paper it imprint...
Lest it dies away as smoke..."
