Wind in Love and the Tree
Soft tip of wind; the trees respond
With slightest nod, then pause...
Again the breath of loving wind, as if
A low tide... A languid sigh of trees,
A timid melody - the lunar chime...
They chant, "Whom do you love of us, reply!"
- I long for her whom setting sun
Did grant his farewell song; Her boughs -
His arbour of the eve, and leaves -
To be his lace; when she embraces his
Setting disc, like in tapestry the gold
Is wound by the colours dark, the song
Is born - this chant is heart
Of the sunset when blend two oceans, but
Nuff said of it, she is my love...
And thus, young willow 'mid the briar red
Rustled gently with a golden shawl, and shed
A rain of yellow plumes; The wind it took,
And made inlay of golden, auburn, green, vermilion hews.
It is for you, my love, the willow sweet,
Thy leaves do whisper to the sun, when he
Rests among thy arms, let me to be
Thy lover, let me sleep in shadow of thy grace,
And tales of olden times I shall narrate
To thee, but see, how beautiful are roseate clouds,
As if the angels did compound
The petals of a rose and lunar stone -
The poetry of evening sky... You know,
One day, you too become a wind like me,
If ye, my love, shall be with me, and these
My tales you'll take to heart, then come
The Spring, and nuptial feast we'll make; Yet hark:
The time flees like the winged steeds,
Can ye return what gone and past, don't miss
The moment, goblet of the time don't waste,
Nor sell for trifle transient things, 'twill fade,
And naked ye shall be as hollow tinder tree...
The very moment hath its inspiration - take from it,
Flee not from heart of thine, but make reply,
If thou longest for the learning, art - respond and realize
Thy dreams... For fleeting is the time and does not wait.
A nightingale, singing to thee anow, tomorrow shall away,
If thou listen not, nor shall respond; Beware
Of worldly matters, empty vanity, affairs -
They steal from thee your dream and time,
Beware of selfishness, intolerance and pride -
They steal from thee thy vision and your soul.
Discern the lasting and the fleeting - sea and foam...
Behold, how ears of wheat sunbeams do carry,
With tender throb they roll and rouse oblivion; Tarry,
O this blissful slumber... Sombre pinions of night
Extinguish eve, the dream it shall become; inside,
In heart, do cherish it and keep, this last romance
Of bent October; over is its taper, when
The night shall cover thee, repeat this song again...
By wine of love the heart is purified, the sky
Expands therein, the love is sun that rise
Over the sea serene, the love is Name
Of God the most beloved; a flame -
The essence of the seraph - lofty ghost
Replete with love... By love a crane is born.
